The children of Room 7 made beaded handles. To do this they slid wooden beads onto a flexible metal wire. Bading is a good way to improve fine motor skills and improve hand-eye coordination. This activity also enforced their knowledge of shapes and allowed them to express their creativity.

The students pictured here are painting with their feet! First, they have to stretch their leg to get the bottom of their foot painted by the teacher. Then they jump, and dance and spin all over the cardboard and watch as their footprints appear. This activity is a great form of physical activity that improves large motor skills and is a fun creative outlet.

Pressing Painted Bubblewrap in Room 2

Pictured here are the children of Room 2 prepping the background of an “about me” page. To do this they painted bubblewrap with many vibrant colors and then proceeded to press the painted surface onto a piece of paper. To paint on the bubbles, the children had to apply the correct amount of pressure, which helped them to improve their fine motor skills. They also improved their understanding of color and color mixing through this activity.
