The children of Room 7 are pictured here scrubbing paint off of rubber toys in the sensory tables. This type of water play can improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. It can also improve self confidence and give a sense of accomplishment when the children see that they made the toys clean and shiny.

Pretty Prints in Room 7

Room 7 has begun their focus on animals. One thing they’re learning about are the different prints and patterns some animals have on their skin or fur. To explore this idea, the kids got to make their own animal prints in class using different materials like, bubble wrap, netting, and cotton balls along with paint. This activity helps teach kids new scientific concepts and improves fine motor skills, while also putting an emphasis on creativity and imagination.

New Growth in Room 7

New Growth in Room 7

In keeping with the Spring theme, Room 7 has decided to plant wheat grass. Each child gets to plant and water their own plant. They will watch as the plants grow and learn about scientific concepts while doing it. Planting seeds and helping them grow also builds self confidence and gives kids a sense of accomplishment as they watch their hard work come to fruition.

Tulip Time

Tulip Time

Room 7 is learning all about Spring. An important part of Spring is all the flowers that bloom. To bring this to the classroom, the kids are painting forks to look like tulips. Later they will add leaves and hang them up. This activity improves kids understanding of colors, scientific concepts, and encourages communication skills when they ask the teacher for assistance.
